Product description

Pizza from the grill is our speciality. With the high-quality pizza stones from Moesta-BBQ, you can bake excellent pizzas that will make the Italian around the corner turn green with envy.

With the Moesta-BBQ pizza stone made of cordierite, your grill becomes a pizza oven.
The pizza stone is simply placed on the grill grate. There it is heated up for 15-20 minutes and you can start cooking. Alternatively, you can heat the stone in the oven on the baking tray on the middle shelf.
The stone is made of cordierite and is designed for high temperatures and can therefore be used for baking in gas grills, kettle grills, charcoal grills, ovens and pellet grills.
It is suitable for gas grills or the oven and can be used at up to 900° C, heats up quickly and retains heat for a long time. When using the pizza stone on a grill, a lid is needed. A delicious pizza also needs top heat, so a lid is a must.

The possibilities are many:
  • Bake pizza
  • Bake breads
  • Bake focaccia
  • Bake tarte flambée
  • Even prepare frozen pizzas and other dough products easily

What is a pizza stone?
The pizza stone ensures that the pizza bakes evenly without drying out. The secret of crispy pizza dough is that the stone draws moisture from the dough and the pizza becomes crispy instead of mushy.
In the process, the cordierite extracts excess moisture from the dough of the pizza and releases the heat evenly, just like in a stone oven - with a little practice, anyone can become a pizza maker. You can find the right recipe for the perfect dough and delicious topping in our category: Recipes.

How does the pizza stone cleaning work?
Dishwashing detergent is not an option! Do not use chemical cleaners!
Do not remove stains with water!
Before you can clean the Moesta BBQ pizza stone, you must first let it cool down thoroughly. This protects you from burns and also the stone. Since the stone is exposed to strong stresses when hot, it can become brittle if it cools down too quickly.
Never clean the stone under running water. The pizza stone is open-pored and would therefore retain water and break down more quickly.
Please just scrape the stone carefully clean with a pizza scraper or kitchen scraper and then wipe it with a kitchen towel. The dark spots may remain.
Tip: The next time you use the pizza stone, simply turn it over and use it from the other side.

What diameter makes sense and how thick should the pizza stone be?
We offer round cordierite pizza stones and square cordierite pizza stones.
We offer the round pizza stone with a diameter of 41 cm and 36.5 cm. The rectangular stone is dimensioned so that it is the perfect size for almost all gas grills.
There is no right or wrong here. It depends on where you want to use the stone.
A round stone is usually used on round grills or kettle grills. If the kettle grill has a diameter of over 57 cm, we recommend the pizza stone with a diameter of 41 cm.
On gas grills, the square pizza stone is popular.
With a thickness of 12mm, we have chosen the perfect combination of heat-up time and heat storage.
Thicker pizza stones often take too long to reach the required high temperature.
The result is that the first pizzas do not have a crispy base but become mushy.

The wooden pizza lifter with handle makes things easy for pizza lovers. With the pizza pusher, pizzas can be conveniently brought in and out of the stone oven, baking oven or kettle grill, even at high heat. The pizza shovel is an accessory that is a must-have for baking or grilling homemade pizzas.A long handle on the pizza shovel is always an advantage. This keeps your hands far enough away from the hot grill or pizza oven. You are safer from getting burnt, as pizza baking on a grill requires temperatures of about 250 to 350°C. The longer the handle, the more unstable it is. The longer the handle, the more unstable the shovel often is. Here it is important to find a good balance between length and stability. We attach great importance to an optimal finish.A little tip for beginners:To avoid having to push the raw pizza onto the pizza shovel, simply lay it flat on the table and prepare the pizza directly on the shovel. Sprinkle the pizza peel with a little flour or semolina beforehand, then the pizza will slide down better. But please be quick here. The tomato sauce soaks through and makes the dough stick to the aluminium.
